That is the reason this has never been a boating group.
It hasn't always been that way....

Rec.boats took a decided downturn during the campaign and elections of
2000.
It has never recovered.

So you see, it's all Bush's fault.

P.S. Happy New Year
Even Peggy Hall was a partisan in 2000. Some of the best sources of
information took sides.

Is was certainly a more interesting group back then. You could fight
about politics and still exchange information.

We were all a decade younger.

Well, it appears that 10 years of maturing hasn't helped a lot of people.

The last 10 years has certainly hardened the divisions and brought out
opinions that weren't shared previously. The end of Clinton's era was
a more gentle period. Having the country plunged into military and
economic hell hasn't enticed the best from the population, of which
rec.boats is a reflection.

There used to be a lot of stinkpotters around, now it's more trailer
trash and the boatless. The sour grapers from Nov 09 are certainly
having their affect as well.

Exactly. Clinton kindeled the fire and obama threw gasoline on it. Thats
the way politics works. Divide and conquer.
