romaine lettuce salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, candied

hoppin' john
fresh fruit compote
champagne

But I suppose most of you dined with loogy or justhate, and had an
enjoyable meal of chicken ala popeyes, rice and beans (floating in
grease), twinkies, and Annie Green Springs wine or Miller Lite beer.
Happy New Year to those who deserve such.

Ok, what's with the Black Eyed Peas? Did I miss something growing up???
hoppin' john: black eyed peas, rice, bacon, onion. southern tradition,
stolen probably from the Carib...if eaten on NY Day, supposed to bring
good luck. We first heard of it one year in the mid-90's, when we spent
the christmas holidays in Savannah.
