Well, usually not, but the wife likes to dig it out when we have
guests over.

She cringes when everybody properly dips out of it with the matching
ladle, then I pull the ladle out and go pouring it out of the spout.

reply: *Don't forget to get that little dribble that goes down the side.. *I
just use my main finger and then pop it in my mouth with a comment on how
good the gravy is. *It's bad manners to leave a dribble on the gravy boat,
