Great boss, there's quite a few that wouldn't have bothered. He may have
forced the choice, but you made it, and stuck with it. I had two friends
that couldn't make that choice, one died of a burst esophagus, another
they found in a snowbank.
He was a good guy and had his own battle with demon rum when he was
younger so he understood it. The key was he knew it was up to me - I
had to take responsibility for myself. Changed my whole outlook on
life.
Congratulations on having the willpower to tackle that disease.
Lots of good people fall to the wayside.
