The LMR cable also has the same lightning resistant properties.


More is acheived as far as lightning resistance by the simple fact of
running the cable inside a metal mast, which is the case on most
sailboats. Meanwhile, the highest and most vulnerable point on that
sailboat mast will likely be the completely unshielded antenna whip,
which is linked to the center conductor.
