The Sea Ray name has disappeared off their plant on Merritt Island. I
see now that it is a Meridian Bayliner Plant.
I hadn't heard about the Meridian brand. Is it a gussied up Bayliner
or
something completely different?

Most of the BoatTest boats are not my cuppa, and beyond my means
anyway. But the e-mail is usually an interesting read and has
interesting test vids and articles.

Was just a rename of the Expensive line of Bayliner.
It was a new line introduced several years ago. New designs, in
larger sizes. They were only behind the economic curve by a half
decade.
Nope, the first Meridians were actually smaller than the large Bayliners.
I
think the first one was a 49'er. They were having a hard time selling a
million buck boat witht the Bayliner name. Previously was the Bayliner 57
etc.
Oh geez, you can't miss a chance to be difficult. They were smaller
than the largest Bayliner at the time but were focused on larger size
vessels. Most of the Bayliner series remained in shorter lengths.

My women loves me and my personality. They kept the smaller boats as
Bayliners, but the 6+figure boats were a hard sell with the Bayliner name.
So spooled off another brand name. Same factory, etc. I think the factory
was even in the Puget Sound area.
