For a particular value of "providing healthcare". One very big
criterion in that particular measurement is cost. It costs a lot of
money to have so many Cat-scan machines all over the country, for

is of questionable value.
BTW, I don't watch FOX, and I want universal health care done right -
not the one that the medical industry is paying Congress for. I
suppose it is better than the status quo though.
Sorry about the FOX reference.
You make a valid point about the Cat-scan equipment. I would add MRI
and shared high-value equipment among "competing" hospitals. For a
thoughtful exploration of healthcare refer to T. R. Reid's current
book."The Healing of America".
Second, Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have been bought by
the medical industry especially Insurance and PARMA. That includes
the WH!
The thing to do immediately is to ****-can the current process and
move immediately to Single Payer -- Medicare for all. Even with its
problems the cost to correct Medicare is well worth it.
Unfortunately, this country doesn't have the balls to take such a
progressive step.
