Talk about Peter Principle - President Obama has created a whole new
category of incompetence - a Super Peter Principle.
Now there's one he should take a bow for...

Speaking of gratuitous genuflection, I've heard through the grapevine
that the President is unofficially rehearsing for what he expects to
receive from the Queen of England in an invitation to be knighted,
with the understanding that he will invariably earn the honor in the
future (a kind of 'ROI'al investment).

I guess you guys never heard of Eisenhower or Nixon bowing.

The were probably briefed on protocol and acted accordingly. The current
dip hasn't a clue.

Hmmm... the protocol of not bowing? They both did. You really need to stop
watching Fox news. They lie over and over...

I was watching them last night. To their credit, they had a guy on
who was arguing on behalf of common sense. The only problem was that
Hannity had at least one and maybe two other Fox koolaid drinkers on
the program. So it was either two or three against one in a
semi-shoutfest.

I'm not a big fan of a president bowing, but if someone wants to criticize
Obama, there are many more things of greater import than that.

For example, I think he should be more forceful re the healthcare debate.
Perhaps he's done this behind closed doors, but it needs to be in public. He
needs to stop dithering wrt gays in the military. We're losing good people
for no earthly reason. He needs to continue to defend (and loudly) a woman's
right to choose to terminate a pregancy. The bill that passed in the House
is an abomination, and it is an attempt to do an end run around the legality
of the procedure. He needs to unleash Holder to fully investigate
wrong-doing wrt to torture. He needs to be more forceful wrt to
environmental issues, e.g., cleaning up the Hudson river (just read an
article about it in Harpers). I'm sure there are other things, but bowing is
just a right wing talking point and has no substance.
