Despite the communist gov't. I'm shocked. Shocked!
I think the corporate weasels have taken over the communist
governments too. Cuba is the only truly communist country left as far
as I can tell and that is an artificial circumstance brought on by our
embargo.
It is ironic that if we were not "fighting communism" in this
hemisphere there wouldn't be any.
Well, I guess we're all doomed to capitalism then.
I don't think Vietnam ever really was communist. It was just supported
by the Soviets and we were fighting anyone the Soviets supported.
Once we got in there the war took on a life of it;s own ... much like
Afghanistan. We just stayed because we didn't want to "Lose"
("peace with honor" and all that crap).
As soon as we got out of there, they immediately started building a
capitalist society.
Cuba is trying to build a capitalist society as we speak. If we would
let them, they would be competing with Florida for US tourist dollars
in the morning. Then would Steve Wynn and Bill Marriott be far behind?
We could trash that island in 10 years.
VN is a communist country. No communist country (except perhaps North Korea)
is a pure society.
Castro merged his revolutionary organization with the communist party.
Again, not a pure state.
