Apparently neither of you comprehend that I was in high school in New

Interesting how New Haven schools went from, your claim of first rate to
shamefully sub standard.

Care to comment on how that happened?

I suspect that the failure of your boat dealership had something to do
with the economic down turn and social decline of the region.

Come on. Let's here your version of the story.

It could be the same problem with Montgomery County Maryland public
schools. In 10 or 15 years the Montgomery County Maryland public school
system will be just another of the thousands of school systems rather
than one of the top 3 in the country that they used to be 5 or 10 years
ago. It has to do with the policies of the Montgomery County Government.
I'll leave it to you to figure it out why.

I haven't paid any serious attention to new haven since I left the home
of my parents to go to college. In the last 30 years, I've been back
there only a couple of times to catch up with old friends. The house my
parents owned still looks good, as does the neighborhood. I know,
because one of my buddies still lives in the immediate area, and I
visit him from time to time. The commercial area in which our strip mall
is located actually looks better over time, as do some of my old
summertime "beach 'burb" haunts in milford and branford. I've never
regretted closing down the family boat business after my father died.

I was in montgomery county a few months ago, specifically rockville. I
loved all the new shopping areas and restaurants, but the traffic
congestion on rockville pike was heavier than I would tolerate if I
lived in that area.
