Look at the bright side. FREE FIREWOOD. You DO have a fireplace, don't
you?

Looks like I'm stuck here for now... two huge trees got blown over the
access road. We're having 60 mph winds today and tonight forecast.
Fortunately, the house is protected with UPS, so I can still work, but I
was supposed to go out with friends. My neighbor said he's come by and
chainsaw them so I can get out, but that'll be tomorrow. It's too
dangerous to be out right now. I'm amazed nothing has hit the house
that's bigger around than a baseball bat (10 or so hits so far). The
little lake is all stirred up, and it looks like someone's dinghy is sunk
next to the dock.
I have two actually. One (in bedroom area) has an insert for real heat. The
big one burns logs, which I mostly use for guests and family when they show
up in the winter. I'm splitting the wood with the guy who chainsawed it...
least I could do.. but it'll be a couple of seasons before it can be used.
I have plenty of wood... higher than I stand, besides there's always
something fallen in the area I could scavenge if nec. The only problem is me
using the chainsaw. It's too cumbersome and I'm afraid I'll chop off a leg
or get it stuck, so I "hire out" (read bribe) for the actual cutting.
