Man, I forgot to report.
I got the chance to play boats last week - two bass boats and a 23
Steiger all repowers to Verados - largest was a 250 on the Steiger,
the others 150s - one on a Nitro and one on a Stratos.
I gotta tell you folks - I am getting more and more impressed with the
Verado series outboards. *Lots of power and extremely quiet.
I stumbled into a deal last week that I'm serously thinking about - a
Ranger 520 that needs a repower. While this may sound like heresy
coming from me, I'm considering Verado as my choice if I buy this
boat.
Anybody have Verado power on their boat? *I'm looking for a longer
term report form sombody who has had one for a while. *I haven't heard
anything super bad about Verados (other than the my engine is better
than your engine nonsense) and would like to know.
Was in Pt. Albernie, BC, Canada 2 weeks ago. *Looked at a new Fisheries BC
aluminum boat. *Nice boat, guy said I could have one just like if for $140k
loonies. *Powered by dual E-tecs. *Boat builder said government uses all
E-tecs and they are dual as you have a spare then. *He said they were having
lots of problems. *He suggested Yamaha's.
I have a new Yamaha 250 with about 100 hours on it, and it's already
had to go into the shop. *Some little fuel line in it plugged up, and
it burned up the fuel pump. *Sea Tow and a few warranty days later and
it's as good as new, but dealer said they have seen several of these
exact failures. *Seems like they all have problems now and then.- Hide quoted text -

hmmm,
I'm surprised there isn't some type of recall on them to rectify the
problem.
