not as much of a crapshoot as it is with no union shop.
Life is a crapshoot.......I just didn't believe lazy *******s
should get the same pay I did. Didn't like it then, wouldn't like
it now.

I had no problem with two companies and a 30 year career. Now, I am
retired.....haven't had a car payment since 1989.....a house payment
since 1994. Just dabble around rebuilding older trucks. Just
finished a '69 Ford 1/2T (390V8, belly tank, 4 wheel disc brakes, new
interior) for my brother in law. Am currently working on a '66 Chevy
1/2T for my nephew (383 roller motor, aluminum heads, 7004r trannie,
four wheel disc brakes, new interior replacing a tired 6 banger and 4
wheel drums). Just gave a '69 Chevy 1/2T to my niece's husband
(disc brakes, 383CID, Turbo 350) and a '72 FJ40 (350V8, four wheel
discs) to another brother in law.

Oh, those are in addition to a '94 Toyota Pickup (rejuvenated), an
'02 Tacoma and a '97 Tundra. Oh, well.......

I have a couple of folks trying to tempt me with a '39 GMC 1/2T and
an old Studebaker 1/2T. Who knows........

Oh, do the Studebaker, RD! Please, please...

Problem is parts. There are very few and those that are are very
expensive. Most of the sheetmetal will have to done by hand from
scratch. If I did it it would probably end up with a Chevy powerplant
anyway as those are a dime a dozen, comparatively.

I'll be your friend...I'll be your best friend! 8D

Unfortunately, I have little skill with automotive renovation. Or
even a place to work, what with three cars and four motorcycles. Wife
is not quite to the way "bike goes or I do" stage. It might be a
tough choice. ;P

Hmmmm, I live on a "property" with a house, two double carports and a 32
X 20 shop. One of the reasons, I bought this property was to add to it.
Put the shop in about 5 years ago. Excellent investment.

Still, we're looking at a log house on 27 acres next to a state park.
I might even take a jc course...

Sounds good.......You should have a terrific view and a very private
backyard. Mines only a couple of acres.
