Almost got arrested. For graduation, we bought our son a nice
computer from Best Buy and had them set it up and paid for their best
warranty. A few weeks later, it stopped working so we took it back.
I went to get it today. They told me the operating system was bad and
it would cost $129 to re-install it.

Seems it should come with an install disk. Maybe a virus hosed it.
I had a good experience with a big monitor - then - I bought at BB.
As I recall the monitor was $400 and they were selling a 2-year BB
replacement warranty for only $25, so I bought that too.
It was a KDS 19"
Good monitor, but a week before the warranty expired it went blank,
and they gave me full price toward a better monitor.
But now they wanted $75 for the same warranty.
I bought it, but that one never paid off.
Well, at least the first one did, which is the only time I got
anything back from a non-car warranty.
The only minor hassle I had was they wanted to send the monitor to the
manufacturer. Not what the warranty said, I pointed out, and they
quickly agreed.
But I wasn't wearing caving gear.
