For some stupid reason, Harry equates education with intelligence.
That's why he tried so hard to lie about his wife's accomplishments.

Intelligence without education is only half a loaf but I'd be the
first to agree that you don't necessarily need college to get there.
Somewhere along the line however it is important to learn writing
skills and grammar or a person will always appear to be uneducated.
