The people at the extremes? Yes.

They prove it every day by doing silly things like:

Protesting Obama's birth certificate

TEA parties (not realizing what Tea bagging is)

Protesting Obama's speech to school children, even though there's a
history of others doing the same thing (Reagan told them of the
importance of low taxes) and W was reading school children a book on 9/11.

Then there's the acceptance of Sara Palin, for no apparent reason
except she's a Republican.
