It's been answered (here and elsewhere) many times. You can lead a horse to
water, but....

Ah yes, to clean up what Bush left, to disrupt the Taliban's attempt
to attack us (which they've never done anyway), and to clean up the
mess Bush left behind. Oh, and because Bush got us in there.

Maybe Obama wants some of the Talibans opium production? That's as
good as any of the 'reasons' you've propounded.
