My 13 yr old daughter who fancies herself to be some sort of mountain
woman seriously wants to go hunting. I have no interest in hunting
because I am so soft hearted I could not shoot at anything. I think
she may be too because she says she feels sorry for the scallops we
pick up. Yes, it might be a good experience for her to see that an
animal must die for us to have meat and turn her into a vegetarian but
she might also regret doing it. Dunno, what y'all think?

At thirteen I was hunting rabbits and squirrels with my own rifle by
myself. My dad and I would go together if he had the day off, we'd hit
the woods when it was still dark, find a nice spot and settle in.
Usually the squirrels would start moving around with the sunrise. We'd
have squirrel for dinner at least once a week. We would have rabbit a
couple times a week.

Take her hunting, or get someone to do it. Let her borrow a 16 gauge
and go for some rabbits. Or, make her shoot them with a .22. That's
what I had to do. I have a .22 I'd be willing to loan her.
