Can you imagine when sailing in the Bahama area was new and how many
ships must have been lost not knowing what was comming at them.

The surrounding cloud and weather structure stretch out close to a
thousand miles.


Weather buoy 41049 is still 170 nautical miles from the eye and
already it is reporting wind gusts to to 42.7 kts and wave heights of
22.6 feet.

Apparently Don's too stupid to be the least little bit worried. Having
been in hurricanes before, I can honestly say that being worried enough to
take some steps to save your life and your belongings is the intelligent
and prudent thing to do.
