Nine GOP Senators cautioned Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday
against appointing a special prosecutor to investigate alleged torture
of suspected terrorists at the hands of American intelligence agents and
contractors.
Thankfully, Holder has already said that he's willing to prosecute if
they find evidence of lawbreaking. He cannot turn a blind eye to
legal violation just because they may have taken place in high office.
Would be a severe blow to our democracy to overlook these events.
It's becoming clearer by the day that Bush was engaged in some sort of
holy crusade. We need a serious dose of disinfectant to rid the
country of the stench of the former administration.
