Each is crime; it is a matter of severity of punishment and offense.

Violent crime is OBVIOUSLY worse than theft. *Nobody said it wasn't.

Agreed crime is crime , should do time etc, but Madoff's fraud was so
transparent , you have to ask if there was any effort that could have
saved the victims from themselves....
