I was able to listen to about 4 of her sample songs and they all seem to be

wasn't able to listen to all her stuff cause they only offered the four
songs.

Greg,

As apposed to "Bluegrass" music, she refers to her songs as
"Bluewater" music. It is hard to categorize her singing style.
Sometimes it does sound a little country. More often her style is
folk. Compare her to Jimmy Buffet, whose music is pretty close to
country as well. While I think that her musical talent is quite good,
I listen more for the message in each song. For me she really
captures the spirit of cruising better than any other artist,
including Jimmy Buffet. I would find them interesting if she just
read them as poetry. The music adds to the mood.

You are not likely to hear her on your local contemporary station.
That is why I thought cruisers might like to learn of her through the
newsgroup.

Can you recommend another artist whose songs relate to cruising or
sailing and who sings in a more contemporary style? As much as I like
Eileen Quinn, I don't want to listen to her all of the time. If you
will pardon the pun from a cruiser wannabe, I am ready to expand my
horizons. :-)
