People of color have every reason to be suspicious of cops.

Harry's contribution to the social/intellectual progress of multiracial
respect and understanding.

I know enough about the social history of this country to understand why
people of color are suspicious of cops, and how and why the elected
leaders of your chosen political party are using racism on a daily basis
to keep this country as divided as possible. Yours is the political party
of southern white bigots. Anti-black racism, when it isn't being discussed
openly, is bubbling there right below the surface.

Ask Glenn Beck...your boy Herring's hero. He's dripping racism, and his
ratings on Fox News are rising...because he is selling your boys...your
white Republican males...what they want to hear.

I don't think you are a racist, but I do think you have your head in the
sand on this issue. Spend an hour or two reading freerepublic.com and you
will find your conservative republican base at its basest. Dig deep into
the birther issues, and you'll find it has nothing to do with where Obama
was born, and everything to do with his skin color.

I am rapidly approaching 60 years old and have a quite full bucket of life
experience. That adult experience started with almost 9 years in the
military service, entered into at a time when race relations were not what
they are today. Trust me. That was a crash course in the racial
disharmony that existed in the 60's.

I agree, as would anyone with half a brain, that there's still progress to
be made and racism still exists.
But we need to be careful that in the altruistic desire to achieve perfect
equality, respect and color blindness that people like you don't have *your*
heads so buried in the sand that you can't recognize and appreciate the
progress than has been made and therefore assume any event involving a
minority or person of color is representative of racism.

BTW, you are certainly a bit narrow in your thinking as well. Despite your
assumptions and repeated accusations, I am not a "Republican". Not a
"Democrat" either. I've pointed this out to you many times since you
decided I am not a big Obama fan in some things, yet you seem to think that
automatically makes me "one of them".

You like Palin more than I do.
