Thomas was a very decent man, and a devout anti-Communist. Bet you

There's nothing wrong with modern socialism. There are a number of
prosperous European nations that have adopted socialism and made it
their own.

"Made it their own?" What does that mean?

Socialism makes the individual subservient to the the state and destroys
liberty in the name of "the social good."
