Well, hey - turns out that Obama is really a Robber Baron in

"Two main things to understand about Waxman-Markey: First, it will
not
reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, at least not at any point in the
near
future. The inclusion of carbon offsets, which can be manufactured
out
of thin air and political imagination, will eliminate most of the
demands that the legislation puts on industry, though in doing so
it
will manage to drive up the prices consumers pay for every product
that requires energy for its manufacture — which is to say, for
everything. Second, it represents a worse abuse of the public trust
and purse than the stimulus and the bailouts put together.
Waxman-Markey creates a permanent new regime in which environmental
romanticism and corporate welfare are mixed together to form
political
poison. From comic bureaucratic power grabs (check out the section
of
the bill on candelabras) to the creation of new welfare programs
for
Democratic constituencies to, above all, massive giveaways for
every
financial, industrial, and political lobby imaginable, this bill
would
permanently deform American politics and economic life. "

Wow...SWTom, aka king of etec, reads national review, or pretends he
does.

Typical Harry - attacks messenger, never counters the message with
rational thought. Perfect apologist for the Messiah.

If the message is from sources like national review, it isn't worth
countering. It's just more right-wing hatemongering.

So only left-wing hatemongering is allowed? Ideas are worthy of
discussion, no matter the source, unless of course, you are bigoted.

From 2000-2008, the right-wingers proved beyond a doubt they were bereft
of ideas that would improve the position of this country in the world
and this country's citizens. I see no reason to consider seriously
anything the right-wing states.

You keep proving your bigotry, and frozen perceptions over and over and
over and over.....and over. Always attacking messengers, never offering
intelligent rebuttals to ideas. No wonder the good folks in this forum
are so polarized.

When the far right comes up with some ideas, proposals, programs, et
cetera, I'm sure they'll get the consideration they deserve.

Saw a TV commercial earlier in which that right-wing crook who used to run
Hospital Corporation of America was "warning" citizens to not let the
government make health decisions for them. Yeah..he wants health decisions
to be left up to insurance companies and their enablers.

You are a good man, though rejecting out of hand any ideas without first
exploring them smacks of elitism, snobbery, and bigotry. When you say "When
the far right comes up with some ideas..." the obvious conclusion is that
you gave no thought to the ideas, and instead reject them because they came
from the "far right". If you had presented reasoned arguments for your
position, I would have no quarrel with you.

I don't consider myself to be part of the far right, nor should you label me
so merely because I disagree with you.

You know almost nothing about me, yet you have come to conclusions that are
way off the mark. You should note that my disagreements with you expressed
in this forum are over your reactions to people as though their ideas are
not worthy of consideration because they differ from your leftist party
line.

You continue to figuratively kill the messenger because the message does not
fit your world view. That behavior is elitist and bigoted. So sad.

Yet the responses to his trolls provide him enough incentive to keep
it up.
