I dont' know anything much about the Catalnina, but I used to ahve a
'64 wood hull 27' Cavalier. It was spacious. it had a 110vAC "ice
box" and a gas 2 burner stove a table and booth which would also fold
down for a bed. It wasn't equipped with a head, but it did have a
closet which also could be used for a porta-potty or a shower. and
yes, pretty generous room actually. the boat was a single 283
corvette engine 4bbl carb. inboard, that pushed the boat along quite
well that is when you got it up to speed. otherwise it was a plowing
fool even with trim tabs, at low speed it seemed like that's all it
wanted to do was plow water. but up on plane, it seemed quite agile
for it's size. Only real complaint was backing it up, like out of a
slip, If I remember correctly you couldn't back straight regardless of
rudder position, it always wanted to back to the left. and that was
the nature of the beast.

I had a blast with that boat! I only wish it had been trailerable
with practicality.
