Default Mercury 9.9 Hesitates until thoroughly warmed up

Yes, The switchbox is the ignition module.

If a motor is running a bit lean on the low speed it will "bog" unless warmed-up. Try putting the choke partially on, if it runs
normally then you have a lean condition. A partially plugged low speed jet can cause this.
For my information: By "switchbox" do you mean the ignition module?

I have a Merc 9.9 2 stroke (92). It hesitates and bogs down unless I let it run at idle for 3-5 minutes before trying to

accelerate
to W.O.T.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this to happen?
The repair shop said it was a bad switchbox and wanted 345.00 to replace it plus labor. I priced a new switchbox on Mercury

parts
express and it is 172.50. Is 100% markup usual on factory parts?
When I worked at a Chevrolet dealership we had to stick to MSRP on factory parts, however we would mark up anything bought from

a
local parts house ( NAPA etc.) 100%.
I kinda feel like the repair shop was trying to put one over on me.

Would the switchbox cause this kind of problem? Or is it a fuel problem? The repair shop said the fuel system was fine.
