WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a resolution
apologizing to African-Americans for the wrongs of slavery.
While this is a symbolic gesture, maybe it will be meaningful to
some. The real apology for slavery is equal opportunity regardless of
race, creed, sex or national origin. *I think MLK Jr. said it best
when he said " I have a dream that my four little children will one
day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of
their skin but by the content of their character. "
Race relations in the US is not perfect, but we have some a long way.

This Newsgroup post is a natural product. The slight variations in
spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and
in no way are to be considered flaws or defects
I wonder if Harry knows that there were Black slave owners also.
Gee, Bilious, what percentage of slave owners in the USA were black?
And why would you think I would want any different treatment for them?
Actually only 24% of NC owned slaves. *How about reparations for my
family. My great grandfather walked with a limp from a Confederate
bullet wound. How many people alive now, were slaves in the South? *How
much has it impacted them? *My Great grandfather was Irish immigrant.
