||| As this ship serves with distinction, it would be deserving if it was
||| treated to the opportunity afforded the following ships:
|||
||| USS West Virginia
||| USS Nevada
||| USS Tennessee
||| USS California
||| USS Maryland
||| USS Pennsylvania
|||
||| Remember your history lessons?
|||
|||All those ships were at Pearl Harbor, and several were at the Japanese
|||surrender in Tokyo Bay.
||
||Bingo! Those ships, sunk at Pearl Harbor, arose again and avenged the
||attack on America by taking the battle back to the enemy. They won
||dozens of battle stars and other awards for meritorious service. I
||hope the same for the USS New York.
||
||IMHO, they should all have been converted to museums (locally, like
||the USS North Carolina), rather than be sold for scrap.
||
||Apparently, John needs a primer on history.... and Loogy? We'll, he's
||still just being a demonstrably ignorant idiot.
||
||I am glad that's what you meant. On the surface, it sounded much like
||something Krause would have said. I should have known better.
||
||Sorry about that.
|
|Not a problem..... and if you do make the move to NC, you'll be
|closer to the USS NC museum and hopefully it will be enhanced by the
|addition of the USS Kitty Hawk. Charleston's Patriots Point is a good
|show, too!
|
|Well, now it looks as though we'll stay here for a couple more years.
|I'm in the mood to move, but SWMBO is having second thoughts. Our next
|door neighbor just moved back down there and bought a beautiful house
|on an acre for half of what his sold for here. He's just north of Wake
|Forest.

Move quick the lakes are really, really, really full!

LOL! So I've heard.
