Plonk you, ****.

floridajim tries *soooo* hard to be noticed. I don't know why; he's
just another knuckledragger who shot the only wad he had in the navy
while helping us lose the war against vietnam.

Harry, your boy is having some trouble. Tell him that you can't block a
poster by saying plonk.

You must also say abra ka dabra before and after saying "plonk".

abra ka dabra.... * *PLONK ............................ * abra ka dabra

This Newsgroup post is a natural product. The slight variations in
spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in
no way are to be considered flaws or defects

jps has written that he's really smart, but have you noticed when
someone puts forth an opposing viewpoint that he can't counter, he
"plonks" them? *He just sticks his head in the sand and ignores any
thought that his mind can't comprehend, and that seems to be quite a
lot.

Also, consider this: "The use of profanity has been described as an
attempt by a lazy and ignorant mind to express itself forcefully.
Others have called profanity the refuge of the witless. *People who
have such a poor command of the language that they are unable to
express themselves effectively often rely on profanity to impress and
shock others."

"And one more thing to consider—the words we choose to use reveal the
kind of person we are. *A person who is willing to use coarse, base,
and offensive words, in public or in private, is a person whose
character should be seriously questioned."

This guy nailed jps.

Stanley Schachter and Jerome Singer developed the Two Factor
Theory of Emotion. In essence, the theory developed the following
structu

(1) In the event that an individual has no causal explanation for an
arousal state, he or she will label arousal in terms of available
cognitions.

(2) In the event that an individual has appropriate explanation for
arousal,
alternative cognitive labeling will be unlikely.

(3) Under identical “cognitive circumstances”, an individual will
only
respond with emotional experience to the degree that he or she is
physiologically excited.

Basically, the psychological value of cursing and/or coarse language
depends upon the force of the 'shock' which it is capable of giving.
The
occasion of profanity in general is a situation in which there is a
high
degree of emotion, usually aggressive, accompanied by a certain
feeling of helplessness.

Additionally, the Two Factor theory allows for differing levels of
cursing/oath/coarse language as a measure of both intelligence
and creativity. For example, a single oath/curse when surprised
is relatively meaningless in context - as in being surprised by a
loud noise or event.

However, when it is used routinely in response to reasoned and/or
normal discourse, it is an indicator of base intelligence and
creativity.

For example, a riposte of "Plonk you, ****" shows a base lack of
creativity thus a low level of intelligence in addition to being
rather
passive. Conversly, a riposte of "You loose-toothed croup-breathed
nightcrawler reeking of bathtub gin and the genetic stink of human
desperation ****" shows a high level of creativity and is much more
aggressive carrying much more meaning.

So, while your original supposition was sound and correct, it also
needed some additional clarification.
