Yeah, and an electrician - speaking of that - told me once, over a
beer - speaking of that - to always keep one hand in your pocket when
you weren't sure about the juice.

That's one of the first rules you are taught for those of us that played
with high voltage.

I recently posted about a couple of experiences of getting zapped with high
voltage. The second incident, that knocked me out cold, was sorta funny
later. The company I was working for called for an ambulance and I was
taken down to a local health center. By the time I got there I had pretty
much recovered and was fine, but they insisted on doing an EKG. (I was a
young guy at the time and was appreciating all the attention by the nurses).
I laid on the table with the wires all attached to my chest while the
machine printed out my heart beat. The nurse came back after a couple of
minutes, looked at the strip chart and got obviously nervous. She dived for
a wall phone calling for a doctor, then turned to me and asked if I felt OK.
I said, "Yeah, I feel fine". The doc arrived and they discovered that one
of the probes on my chest had become unplugged.
