That crack appears to have been caused by corrosion between the bearing
carrier nut and the housing exerting extreme pressure on the housing.
Have the unit pressure tested.If pressure holds you're good to go until
the crack travels into the gearcase area. If the end of the crack hasn't
moved past the carrier seal you can drill a small hole at the end of
the crack to help prevent the crack from spreading.
