I heard about WD-40 being used to dry condensation inside the
distributer of a car. When I washed my car it wouldn't start, so I
removed the cap and gave it a spritz. I didn't wait long enough for it
to dry, and when I turned the key the cap exploded. Luckily the parts
counter was directly across the street, about 100 feet away.

I've done the same thing *(Chrysler product, noted for distributor cap
condensation).
I sprayed it, then immediately wiped it out with a rag. * Car started. *No
explosion.

I had a slant six that if it rained a lot during the night, I'd have
to do that to start it in the morning. I tried everything, even made a
gasket for it where the cap meets the distributor.
