Actually, I don't know "the issue" regarding "Tommy." I have no idea
why Tommy objects to the very common nickname for the name Thomas.

I don't expect him to "buy" my politics, but I don't recall him
objecting much if at all to the idiocies of the Bush Administration.
He bought into every lie Cheney put in Bush's mouth.
