What is the right procedure when you find a kink in a two years old

forestay? Would you replace the forestay or challenge it?

Replace it is my vote - a kink is weakening - and 5/16 in wire is for a
big 45 ft + mast I take it.

A "kink", how? *How did you never notice it before, or is it new?
Still, I'd replace it. If it is really close to either end, you might
consider cutting it out and putting in a short piece using sta-lok
terminals but replacement is prob easier.

How did it get kinked? It took place while removing the mast for winter
storage
I like the idea, *I'll replace it with a new forestay.
As for the old one the kink is locate at the upper end right below the eye.
I will doctored it as you have said and kept it for a spare.

OH, in a RF system.
