I thought of that the first time I really looked at a jet ski up
close. I assume you have to toughen up the jon boat quite a bit to
take that many horsepower. These things are 60+HP aren't they. That
should make a 14' jon boat fly. I know they move right along with a
25.
They were selling a jet, RIB around here for a while but I haven't
seen one in years.

I have two 160HP jets in my boat. Yammie uses the same engine (single) in
their larger "skis." That little boat would become airborne, and not in a
good way.

Someone made a RIB with two 450 hp Cummins Diesels and Hamilton jet
drives. Could of bought it in 2000 for 180 grand, but in Iowa? We have
had a Turbocraft for fifty years, hull number ten of the first model
sold in the US, back in the fifties. Came with a 109 hp flathead six.
Put in a Buick V-6 and got 3700 RPM, up from 3200 with the Graymarine.
