59 seats and counting...if Franken is seated, that makes a
filibuster proof Democratic majority in the Senate on many
Democratic issues, and a further decline for the crazy conservative
Republicans.
The Dems can have Specter. He'll be a credit to the party, I am
sure. (barf)
He has only one thing and one person's interests in mind and to hell
with anyone else, Republican or Democrat. Good riddance.
Hope he takes the Sob Sisters from Maine with him.
It's going to be sooooo much fun watching him lose his seat.
I'm getting my check book warmed up to stroke out a check to his primary
challenger and if he somehow wins the Democrat primary the Republican
challenger. But, I won't have to write a check. The DSCC will tell
Specter to step aside and retire.
Turncoats are never trusted.
You are incredibly naive. Specter is being welcomed with open arms by
the highest ranking leaders of the Democratic Party. He is being given
seniority based upon his entree date to the U.S. Senate. Every major
Democrat will raise money for him and campaign on his behalf.. The only
way he will not be the Democratic nominee in 2010 is if his cancer or
death keeps him out of it. He is 79, after all.
Specter is very popular in Pennsylvania. Further, Democrats in that
state outnumber Republicans by about a million.
Here's what else is going to happen. In their stupidity, the GOP is
going to continue to try to trash the two ladies of Maine, Olympia Snowe
and Susan Collins, both Republican U.S. Senators. Doubtful they will
switch parties, but they will become even more reliable supports of the
Obama agenda.
You and your party are ****ed, Bertie. You have no leaders, no issues,
no ideas, and no agenda, other than to try to screw over Obama and
whatever progress he can make. Proof of your party's vacuousness: Eric
Cantor, the U.S. Representative from the Richmond, Virginia, area, a
complete asshole who is working very hard to preside over the death of
the GOP.
Oh...what's even more delicious in the switchover...he was convinced to
"come on over" by Joe Biden. Specter's oldest and closest friend when
both were in the Senate. Ed Rendell helped, too.
The GOP rapidly is becoming the party of southern redneck evangelicals,
and one asshole in Montgomery County, Maryland.
