3/8", 150' or so would be more than sufficient. Braid is expensive, so
a standard three strand nylon. You might want to consider 4/6 foot of
chain on the anchor end depending on wind conditions where you boat -
the chain helps set the anchor and keeps the anchor from being pulled
free in normal conditions.

Every fifteen feet, use a colored thread - red for fifteen, blue for
30, etc. That way you have a clue as to how much you have paid out
while anchoring.

Generally, 100' of line would be sufficient for anchor depths up to 15'.
3/8 twisted would be preferred over braided because of its elasticity. 15#
seems like a little overkill for a Danforth style anchor. 6' of 1'4" chain
is good. A boat over 20' would require stouter ground tackle.

If you want to get a good sense of what you should be using, check out how
the locals set up their boats.

15# is good. My little 14' Valco would plow the bottom mud with a 5#
danforth type. You want a minimum of 3/8" not for the strenth, but anything
smaller hurts the hands when retrieving anchor rode. A 100' should be fine.
I keep a 2nd 100' of line in the boat if I need more, but I also boat is
salt water and high flow rivers.
