An unsettling realization

For the past couple weeks, I have been wondering why I dont go sailing
in late afternoons on one of my small MiniCup sailboats I built.
We've had nice weather and wind. Also wondering why I havent found
time to sail the big boat or to use the Tolman. Instead, I have been
coming home and working on the camper project. Whats going on here? I
suddenly realized that I have gotten more enjoyment from building
these things than from using them. This bad because it never ends.
Am considering going on strike against building anything else for 2
years so as to enjoy what I have.
Well, you could always take on projects that don't require so much time.
For example, sometime next month I'm going to unshrinkwrap my Parker.
You could drive up here for the day and do a "wax on" "wax off." I'll
even provide the wax and lunch.
I just put together a server for a friend who has less mechanical and
electronic aptitude than I do. Took me about two hours, and then another
hour or so to preload the software and update it.
The point is that there are small projects, too, that leave you the time
to do other stuff.
I don't consider peeling off a winter cover or whipping together a
server box a project. It's more of a task. Now, 15 years of trying to
screw up a newsgroup, definitely falls into the project catagory.
