At work, I am trying to see a very weak reflected light beam so I have
to make the room very dark. Even with no windows this is really
difficult. The number of LED indicators on things is amazing. I have
been crawling all over in the dark with black electrical tape covering
them up. EVERYTHING has them. Outlet strips, chargers, any piece of
electronic equipment has many, computers are nearly impossible to make
dark. I ffinally decided to cover everything with aluminum foil.
So...you took off your hat to block the lights, eh?
When I originally bought the building, it had bars on the windows and
had been owned by a company that serviced vending machines and they
said the bars were because they handled a lot of change from the
machines. The place had a very oversized AC system. My friend the
building inspector looked the place over and said he wanted to show me
something.
Upstairs and hidden away was a 18' x18' room lined with foil. There
were round marks on the floor and something that kinda looked like
spilled soil. They had been growing pot here. The huge AC system was
to make it invisible to police IR detection from above. Apparently,
they would ship the pot out in bags of coins.
Well, I hope you continued that worthwhile and profitable business.
