He's celebrating his 30th birthday in Las Vegas. Hope he gets lucky!




I was in Las Vegas for an hour last Thursday. Well, I was at the
airport. Waiting for a plane, naturally. Put a quarter in one of the
slots at the US Scare terminal, won $23. Quit gambling right there, used
the proceeds to buy a Corona and a Mexican lunch right at the terminal.

Flew in to Vegas from the west, enjoyed seeing the demarcation line of
heavy snow on the mountains and then brown sandy dirt at the transition
to desert. Some pretty isolated houses out there in the mountains and
dunes.
