Although no one knows where the quote really came from, everyone
agrees that it is correct. Great city, beautiful scenery, not so
great climate unless you like cold, damp fog.
Marin isn't bad at all. Doesn't get the same quantity (quality?) of fog.
They also say, incorrectly, that if you can sail in the SF bay, you can sail
anywhere. The closer truth is that if you sail in the SF bay, you can find
conditions from almost anywhere (sometimes on the same day.... Caribbean to
roaring 40s).
