Prices still seem hefty....

That's what happens when your currency is in the crapper.

Canadians are not that intellegent to realize that. A commonly propagated
union and political myth to keep the sheep herd happy.

The truth is while a lower dollar does decrease labour/value costs, it also
means raw material goes up negating the benefits. And with a lower dollar,
few Canadians can afford the 28% to 50% premium on vehicle pricing.

For example say I have a bumper made in Ohio for $1000 USD. Then put it on
a truck in Canada, in Canadian dollars it is $1300. That $300 (30%) pop in
pricing excludes many from buying it in Canada.

Just means Canadians are working cheaper but buying less. Lowers the
standard of living and fuels the depression.

But CBC, the government sponsored media will say all is well to appease the
herd.

For people like me, the boat is going to have to wait at least another year
or two unless someone nearby has a firesale. Given local pricing for the
boats, not likely. Paying $60K CAD for a $25K USD boat is stupid.
