It's only in Beta, MS will fix it.
Red Hat Linux is going to show MS how.

Is this the year linux overtakes MS and Apple on the desktop? :)
Not likely to overtake this year, but they are making steady progress and
are crimping MS margins on the retail.
Windows 7 is regurgitated Vista, as the "Vista" brand makes Edsel look good.
They would SP3 the thing but for two reasons, first they get to bilk users
more to upgrade to sell a new version and second, they realized Vista has
severe issues that a mere service pack cannot fix.
For surfing/mail users, it works. But likely no impending reason to
upgrade. Vista is fragile if you push it hard, but most users don't so it
floats as a low end system.
What do you mean by it "is fragile if you push it hard"?
I pushed VISTA pretty damned hard on my desktop, what with running a DVD
burn, light photo work, word processing, and email simultaneously, and
sometimes tossing in a download for good measure. Sometimes sending or
receiving emails slowed a bit during a download, but that had little to
do with VISTA and more to do with the shortcomings of my 'net connect.
Certainly VISTA has its detractors, and some of the complaints about it
are valid, but most of what I read is nothing more than smoke beling
blown up the alley, or whining from near-virgin computer users who don't
know what they are doing and hope the OS won't notice, either .
