For a new laptop, a replacement keyboard shouldn't be terribly expensive...
I would rinse with distilled water, blow dry with compressed air and
place in a 130 degree oven for an hour or two. I spilled an ounce of
coffee on a keyboard and I flipped it over instantly. The stuff didn't
have time to penetrate. No problems. I like those IBM jobs that have a
positive click when you press them. They used to cost over a hundred
new I think they quit making them, but there is ebay.
