If you want a nice, not expensive, wine to share with Mrs. E...try:

My wife discovered this at dinner during one of her business trips, and
bought a bottle for us upon her return. I'm about as far removed from a
wine expert as one can be, but I have to agree...the Rex Goliath merlot
is mighty fine wine. Nice label on the bottle, too.
I'll look for it. Mrs.E. rarely drinks but when she does, she likes
good wine.
Must be the Italian in her.
Me? I am just not that sophisticated to appreciate fine wines. I am a
beer guy, always was, always will be. Just can't do it like I used to
unfortunately.

I only drink beer on really hot summer days, and then not much of it. I do
prefer Mexican beers, though. Dunno why. I drink less wine than I do beer.
But I liked the Rex Goliath merlot. It's only about $7 a bottle at a wine
store.
My father in law loves a beer now and then, and he collects beer bottles
from the countries where he's enjoyed a national or local brew. Last time
I was at his house, he had about 100 empty beer bottles from different
countries.
My favorite alcoholic bev is a well-made margarita.
It's funny. I don't really enjoy a beer on hot summer days anymore. I'll
drink some to be social of course, but all they do is give me a headache.
When I was young, a few beers made me want to conquer the world. Now all
they do is make me want to take a nap.
I have to be in the mood for a few brews, and it usually includes being with
some good people and having a good time in spirited conversation, etc.
I had some bad experiences drinking margaritas back to my Navy days.
Lurkers still exist, so that's enough about that.
