Alright. I dialed in the Skeeter as best I could. Now I'm back with a
slightly newer boat with a different motor.

Its a 1994 20' Baker twin tunnel with a 200HP injected Mercury Mariner. It
has a hydraulic jack plate and a 5 blade prop. I am actually pretty happy
with the overall setup, but I'm not sure the hydraulic jack plate was all
that necessary. It comes out of the hole no matter where I set the engine.
With the engine jack all the way up it only lags slightly coming out of the
hole. With the jack down and the motor at negative trim it comes out of the
hole like a shot from a gun.

Now about cruising speed. Its plenty fast. at 5500 RPM its doing between
about 54 mph. The part that gets my attention is that I still have plenty
of throttle left at that speed. In fact if I max the throttle from there
for a moment it really jumps forward. I've never run it for more than a few
seconds at full throttle though because I don't want to damage my engine.

My question is, what is the max safe continuous RPM for that engine?
