I'm not sure I'd call 16 months rushing, but we are going to need the
manpower in Afghanistan. The last I heard, the Taliban has an active
presence in over 70% of the country. I'm not exactly sure what that
means, but it doesn't sound good. ;-)

Why do we need the manpower in Afghanistan? Nobody is ever going to
control Afghanistan. If why destroy a farmers poppy crop you make him a
Taliban just like killing his water buffalo in Vietnam made him a VC.

We should leave Afghanistan first it is of no strategic value.
