I didnt like the patriot act either and thought it was far too
extreme. Liberals hated it. So, now that Obama is in office, why has
there not been a groundswell to change it. With a majority in both
houses of congress in office it should be easy. So why not? I think
the answer is that the Obominations will find it useful against anti-
Obama people.
The attitude is control. In order to achieve that total monitoring an
preemtive identification of potential threats or crystal ball looking
is neccessary.
Everybody is a potential terrorists according to the inner city
socialist or facist, take your pick, Elites that dreamed up this
Police State apparatus. The focus was to prevent terrorism. The
Politicans can identify any one or group they select as a terrorist or
hostile. If you give them the tools they will find a use for them.
Our Agencies were doing a fine job. There was inter agency competition
and turf squabbling but that didn't permit the Terrorists to attack
us. There is no way to protect, absolutely, our Society from a
multiple prong scouting and attack by a fanatical murder culture of
Islam. everywhere Islam is there are Terrorists and terrorism. All of
them don't commit it but their religon and their culture mandates
their participation, or support with money, and every other asset. So
far almost all Homeland Security has done is mad Americans suspicious,
paranoid and edgy. We have no anonimity and don't dare look askance at
anything. Anything can be viewed as suspicious.
Quite immigrating tis culture into our Country and we will greatly
diminish their threat.
I don't recall your speaking out against Homeland Insecurity while its
perpetrators, the Bush Admin, was in power.
Your recelector is on the fritz.
