Default Towing with the Nissan

Consider, though, if you have an engine that develops desirable torque
at 7,450 RPM.... you are going to have to cruse at that RPM....
regardless of the transmission buttons or chip reprogrammers.

Personally, I find that to be a logical flaw in modern towing
vehicles. As we have often discussed..... no boat is a water borne
panacea. Each and ever one is selected for its intended use.

Tow vehicles are no different.

I've had this debate with one of my sons. He was trying to convince me
that his
345 hp "Hemi" powered Dodge Durango was faster from 0 to 60 than my '67 GTO
with 10 less horsepower. I tried to explain to him what torque curves were
all about and the relationship of torque to rated horsepower. The mini Hemi
develops max torque at almost 5000 RPM.
The old GTO developed max torque at about 2800 RPM. Still didn't convince
him, so I had to go out on a deserted road and show him.

He developed a new appreciation for old school American muscle cars.
